The Teacher Empowerment through Support and Technology (TEST) project is a VSO Ghana pilot intervention with support from Stavros Niarchos Foundation which formed part of VSO’s 8-year Tackling Education Needs Inclusively (TENI) programme to improve retention and performance of children in the northern regions of Ghana. The pilot project took place in twenty public basic schools - ten each from the Talensi and West Mamprusi Districts in Upper East and Northern Region respectively. The pilot project was implemented by Open Learning Exchange (OLE) Ghana.

Open Learning Exchange (OLE) Ghana in partnership with African Storybook Initiative from South African Institute of Distance Education (SAIDE) had a workshop on Storybook creation from 1st to 4th August, 2017 at the National Science Resource Centre.  The workshop introduced thirty Ghanaian teachers to the African Storybook (ASb) initiative as they explored how they could use tools and resources on the African Storybook website to develop their own stories for use with their pupils.

The Teacher Empowerment through Support and Technology (TEST) pilot project ended with and award ceremony on the 28th July, 2017 at Bolgatanga Senior School in the Talensi District. The programme brought together officials from the education directorates of West Mamprusi and Talensi districts, teachers, heads, of the pilot project beneficiary schools.
